I agree with your quote in the article--that Inventor Fusion is "not the holy grail of 'fusing' the two modeling approaches." I get the feeling Autodesk felt pressured to rush the beta code out the door. The present version--Technology Preview 1--struck me as a delivery of half of what it promised in its initial announcement.
