Beer In Belgium

Today was the first day of the Bricsys 2010 Conference in Bruges in Belgium. I tweeted about it all day. So I won’t repeat myself here. The evening was interesting to say the least, as you can imagine from the title of this post. Bricsys had a dinner for all attendees in the art museum of Salvador Dali, a Spanish surrealist painter.

The theme of the evening was beer. Everything had beer in it. They first started out with a beer cocktail and then went around serving one type of beer after another. The alcohol content kept increasing with every round and I believe we ended up at 9% or something. The shrimp soup had beer in it. The chicken had beer in it. The grapes were dipped in “beer caramel”. Even the freaking ice cream served with dessert had beer in it. If I do a blood test now, I can assure that you that there will be more beer than anything else.

If you look closely, this lady has a ear stuck to her nose and her ear replaced by a nose. But I tried to offer her some beer nonetheless

Had it not been for the beer I would not have been able to make sense of these paintings at all.

This should serve as a warning

Actually this one explained them all
